Background Information:
Uganda Export Promotion Board(UEPB) which is an equal opportunities
employer is a semiautonomous
public agency set up by the Uganda Export
Promotion Board Act 1996 under
the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives with the main
objective of facilitating the
development, promotion and coordination of all export- related
activities that lead to
export growth on a sustainable basis.
The primary functions of the Board are:
I. To provide trade and market information services
II. To promote and coordinate the development of exports
III. Provide trade promotional services
IV. Provide customised advisory services
V. Formulate and recommend to Government export plans, policies and
strategies.
Key Functions
· Maintain financial records and up-to-date books of Accounts
· Prepare periodic reconciliations of financial statements
· Carry out monthly cash book reconciliations with bank statements
· Examine correctness of payment requests and completeness of
documentation
· Certify requisition or transactions for further processing
· Process payments; verify payroll change requests and reports
· Compile accountability returns, verify and retire advance ledgers
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS
Should have an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:
Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration from a recognized
awarding University or Institution and should be a full member of an Accounting
body such as ACCA, CPA, and ICPAU.
EXPERIENCE
Should have relevant working experience of at least (5) five years at
senior or management level gained from a reputable organization, (3) three
years of which should either be in private or public sector.
COMPETENCES
· Knowledge of Public Finance and Accountability Act (PFAA), Public
Finance and Management Act (PFMA), public service regulations, Public service
standing orders and related financial management regulatory frameworks
· Conversant with the procurement, disposal and contract management
process
· Excellent human resource management skills
· Effective delegation, mentoring and coaching of subordinates.
· Effective delegation, mentoring and coaching subordinates
· Communication skills
· Time Management
