Lacor Hospital, the premier private not-for profit health
facility in Northern Uganda, seeks a Pediatrician with at least three years experience
to start ASAP.
The position is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual
to participate in the revitalization of health services in a post conflict
context, yet where security is not a major concern.
Lacor is at the center of a range of innovation initiatives
related to improving clinical practice, strengthening evidence-based policy and
practice, and examining the potential value added of results-based financing,
inter alia. Still, there are challenges. Resources are limited in terms of treatment
options and diagnostic tools; there are persistent shortages of qualified
staff, nurses and doctors; and there are often different clinical guidelines as
well as standards of clinical practices. Effective personal and professional
engagement necessarily entails cultural sensitivity and tact. Additional

The Hospital will cover transport, food and accommodation,
regulatory registration and license to practice, and will provide a modest
stipend to suitably qualified individuals based on their CV and duration of
commitment. While a minimal commitment of three months will be considered, a
commitment six month or longer is preferred.
