WARD MANAGER – MATERNITY WARD

Background Information:
Mengo
Hospital is the oldest Hospital in Uganda having been founded in 1897. It is a
Christian, Missionary founded, Private Not-For-Profit (PNFP) Hospital. It is
categorized as a General Hospital by government, but operationally it is a
referral Hospital. It has offered treatment to tens of
thousands of people over
the years. The once Missionary Hospital simple structures, developed into the
present-day 300-bed hospital, spread over 22 acres of land at Namirembe Hill.
Job summary
Ensure that
the Maternity Ward and clinics are run efficiently and effectively with due
regard to Customer care and quality services.
Qualifications, experience and skills
required
(a) Must be
a qualified Midwife holding a BSc.N Degree, or Diploma or Double Trained/
Registered. Additional qualification and hands-on training in Health Services
Management, Customer care or Hospitality Management is a competitive advantage.
(b) At least
3 years’ relevant working experience, including Managerial/Administrative
roles, in a maternity set up; with good leadership skills
(c) Must be
registered and licensed by the Nurses &Midwives Council
(d) A
balanced and mature midwife with a dynamic personality of at least 30 years.
