Job Title: MEDICAL LABORATORY
TECHNOLOGIST

Location: Kampala.
Background Information:
Mengo
Hospital is the oldest Hospital in Uganda having been founded in 1897. It is a
Christian, Missionary founded, Private Not-For-Profit (PNFP) Hospital. It is
categorized as a General Hospital by government, but operationally it is a
referral Hospital. It has offered treatment to tens of thousands of people over
the years. The once Missionary
Hospital simple structures, developed into the
present-day 300-bed hospital, spread over 22 acres of land at Namirembe Hill.
Job summary
(a) Carrying
out specialized Laboratory analysis for disease diagnosis, treatment,
prevention, control and research
(b) Provide
effective technical and supervision of operations and staff in the Lab.
Minimum qualifications, experience
and skills required
(a) A Bachelors Degree in Biomedical
Laboratory Technology (BLT) or the equivalent from a recognized Institution;
computer literate; with comprehensive knowledge of procedures for Laboratory
diagnostics, informatics and management.
(b) Knowledge of implementing quality
management system (SLIPTA/SLAMPTA) will be a competitive advantage.
(c) At least 5 years’ relevant working experience
including managerial/administrative roles in a busy Medical Lab., with ability
to work under minimum supervision
(d) Must be registered and licensed by
the Allied Health Professionals Council
(e) A balanced, mature and dynamic person of at
least 35 years.
