Mengo
Hospital is the oldest Hospital in Uganda having been founded in 1897. It is a
Christian, Missionary founded, Private Not-For-Profit (PNFP) Hospital. It is
categorized as a General Hospital by government, but operationally it is a
referral Hospital. It has offered treatment to tens of thousands of people over
the years. The once Missionary Hospital simple structures, developed into the
present-day 300-bed hospital,
spread over 22 acres of land at Namirembe Hill.
Job summary
Supervising
the Hospital Medical Records unit efficiently and effectively with due regard
to the safety and confidentiality of records and information on patients.
Minimum qualifications, experience
and skills required
(a) A Bachelors Degree in Medical Records
Management or in Library and information Science or the equivalent.
(b) Must be computer literate.
(c) Working knowledge of medical
terminology and diagnosis, as well as additional training and qualification in
administration is a competitive advantage.
(d) At least 5 years’ relevant working
experience including managerial/administrative roles preferably in a Medical
Records Unit .
(e) A balanced, mature and dynamic person
of at least 30 years.
