Beyond 2015 is a global civil society campaign, pushing for a strong and legitimate successor framework to the Millennium Development Goals. The campaign is built on a diverse, global base ranging from small community based organizations to international NGOs, academics and trade unions, to achieve a global overarching cross-thematic framework that will succeed the Millennium Development Goals, reflecting Beyond 2015's policy positions. The tasks related to this agenda will be executed in collaboration with key partners that include International Forum of NGO Platforms (IFP) and Climate Action Network (CAN) International.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose of the assignment
The main purpose of the assignment is to coordinate Beyond 2015's members' and partners' regional advocacy within the joint project, to ensure effective and coordinated advocacy work across the countries prioritized in the project and to ensure all organizations are able to fully participate in the campaign.
Scope of the assignment
The Beyond 2015 Regional Coordinator will be responsible for the following broad tasks
a)Support the organisation of national hubs on a post-2015 global development framework
b)Information exchange and analysis within the region
c)Coordination and outreach
d)Coordination of political dialogue on the post- 2015 agenda with relevant regional decision making bodies
e)Reporting
Reporting and accountability
The Beyond 2015 Regional Coordinator will be accountable to Executive Director UWASNET.
Additionally, they will be accountable to IFP, the Beyond 2015 link that supports all the Regional Coordinators.
QuaIifications
Academic degree in law, Political SCience, international development or a related field of study.
A minimum offouryears of relevant practical experience working with media, advocacy and campaigns, and coordination of a network or program. Knowledge and understanding of the process of developing the post-2015 framework would be an advantage.
Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people across cultures and levels
of seniority; strong diplomacy skills; ability to work effectively in a small team; excellent writing and oral communication in English and French.

ANPPCAN Uganda Chapter is a leading National Child Rights and Protection Non-Governmental Organization that has for over 20 years been working in Uganda at family, community and national level to ensure that children are protected from all forms of maltreatment and that the rights of children are respected. ANPPCAN Uganda Chapter seeks to recruit a competent, highly motivated and committed individual (Uganda Nationals) to fill the key position of Executive Director that is available at the National Secretariat:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Organization, the Executive Director will be responsible for providing overall strategic leadership to the organization in line with the organization's mission, vision, objectives as well as values and ensuring the effective implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
SPECIFIC TASKS
•Ensuring the development of relevant and appropriate programmes and interventions for the organization as well as their effective and efficient execution at all levels.
•Spearheading the mobilization of adequate financial ami other resources to support programmes and operations of the organization and generally ensuring a sustainable financial resource base for the organization.
•Supporting the Executive Board in developing and implementing appropriate policies and systems for the proper governance and management of the organization as well as ensuring the effective implementation of the decisions of the Executive Board.
•Ensuring the prudent and accountable utilization and management of the organization's financial resources including maintaining strict adherence to established financial management policies/procedures as well as sound financial management practices.
•Maintaining a highly performing, well-motivated and productive team of staff and generally ensuring effective management of the organizations human resources.
•Creating an environment of continuous learning, where staff is encouraged and supported to grow and develop and are held accountable for their commitments and obligations.
•Maintaining excellent and productive relations with ANPPCAN external stakeholders and partners including government Ministries and institutions, donors, other civil society actors and agencies as well as other ANPPCAN Chapters and the Regional Office in Nairobi.
• Strengthening and maintaining ANPPCAN's positive public image
as a leading Child Rights and Child Protection Organization.
•Generally ensuring tile smooth running of all the functions of the National Secretariat as well as the ANPPCAN Branches and iield offices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•A Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Development Studies/ Management or Human Rights from a reputable institution.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master's degree in the above fields. Specialized training in any of the following fields namely; children's rights, child protection, NGO Management, Financial management is highly advantageous.
•At least six years' experience in a senior management position in a reputable national or international Non-Governmental Organization working in the fields of human rights and/or social development.
•Relevant experience and interest in working on rights issues with vulnerable groups especially children.
•A good understanding of and strong experience in NGO financing and financial management
•Well developed and demonstrable Leadership and Management com peten ces
•Experience in building personal networks at a senior level and leveraging new opportunities for the organization.
•Capability in analyzing complex problems and issues, building broad team consensus and leading teams forward towards a clear direction.
•Experience in strategic leadership in areas of strategic advice, policy formulation, and process and systems development.
•Well-developed conceptual analytical skills with ability to provide expert advice in relation to formulation of development programmes for proposals.
•Ability to meet deadline
•Excellent writing and oral communication skills ( English)
•A high level of computer proficiency
•Age Limit: Between 40-55 years.
