Position Title:  Transport Assistant/Program Driver (7 Positions)

Reports to: Program Assistant.

Brief Company Profile:

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is desirous of filling some

administrative positions to support the program team (PSU) of USMID Program based

in Kampala. All jobs carry an initial one year contract renewable periodically up to a period

of four years upon satisfactory performance.

The offer is open to all interested applicants with required qualifications, experiences and competencies, skills and right work attitude.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To drive USMID Program staff and maintain Program vehicles in good mechanical conditions.

Duties and responsibilities:

a) Ensure safe of staff to and from various destinations.

b) Ensure safety and proper parking of all vehicles at all times.

c) Prepare monthly reports on the status and mechanical conditions of the vehicles.

d) Keep the vehicle clean and interior kept regularly refreshed and Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Assistant or member of PST.

Qualifications and specifications:

"0" Level Certificate with at least five passes (including a pass in English language as a must), and a clean Driving Permit of Class "B".

a) Possession of a defensive driving certificate is an added advantage.

b) Basic knowledge in motor vehicles is also an added advantage.

c) At least six years of working experience as a driver in the Government (i.e Ministry Department, Local Government or Agencies); or any other large 8 reputable organization.
