Job
Purpose/Objective: To set up and operate a variety of
machine tools to produce precision parts, instruments, and finished products
used to fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
1.
Design machine parts to specification using machine tools such as lathes,
milling machines, shapers or grinders.
2.
Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and
ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as
micrometers.
3.
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized
or advanced variation tools.
4.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during machining process.
5.
Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
6.
Clean and lubricate machines, tool, equipment and your work area.
7.
Adhere to company environment, Health and safety regulations while at work.
8.
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation
of machinery work.
9.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
10.
Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and
ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as
micrometers.
11.
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized
or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Personal
specification:
Ordinary
diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning. Candidates must have at least 2
years relevant experience in a similar role.
