Reports to: CERT
Manager
Role: To plan, execute, assess and monitor all
tasks assigned under the Project.
Key Result Areas
a. Plan,
execute, assess and monitor all tasks assigned under CERT UG;
b. Manage
the CERT Uganda Help Desk and raise tickets for all confirmed
probable incidents;
c. Conduct
risk assessment and security analysis on the reported incidents;
d. Respond
and provide support to the CERT Uganda Constituents;
e. Produce
periodic or ad hoc reports of high quality for incidents, security threats and
vulnerabilities;
f. Develop
training modules and technical documentations;
g. Conduct
knowledge sharing sessions among other technical personnel on lessons learnt
and new findings; and
h. Comply
with all CERT.UG’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
Qualification
· Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Science/ ICT/ Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications,
Computer) or any relevant area;
· Knowledge
of Internet applications and Cyber security;
· Professional
certification in any related field such as ICT security, CISSP/ GCIA/ GCFA/
CEH/ CISA/ CISM is an added advantage;
· Knowledge
of at least 2 operating systems (UNIX and Windows);
· Knowledge
of security risks, threats and vulnerabilities; and
· Knowledge
on cryptographic technologies.
Experience and
Knowledge
· At
least three (3) years of working experience in Information security or relevant
field;
· Sound
knowledge of computer hardware, internet applications, cryptographic
technologies, security risks, threats and vulnerabilities, and risk
assessments;
· Knowledge
of at least two (2) operating systems (UNIX and Windows);
· Good
managerial and interpersonal skills;
· Strong
analytical skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently;
· Willing
to travel on short notice;
· A good
team player with good personality and ability to manage stress; and
· Self-starter
with high sense of urgency in making deliverables and capable of protecting
confidentiality of information.
