Ugacof is a leading coffee Processor
and Exporter in the region. The company has built a strong relationship with
the farmers and is continuously working hard to implement various projects that
are aimed at sustaining and increasing coffee production and productivity in
coffee growing areas. It is therefore the company' wish to recruit qualified
persons in the following positions for a two (2) year renewable contract:
Post Title 1:
Project Manager
Under the supervision of the Chief
Operations Officer, he/she will be accountable for successful delivery of the
project right from commencement to project completion, through the initiation,
planning, execution, monitoring, control and closing phases.
Duties:
• Provide decision making across all project related issues.
• Identify, maintain and manage project budgets.
• Manage project and ensure that it remains within the agreed
scope, schedule, cost and quality.
• Manage project plan and schedules.
• Provide project reports.
• Identify team resources required by members.
• Ensure that organizational elements of the project are
addressed and integrated.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in any science related field.
• Post graduate diploma in project planning. Agronomy, HRM or
Public Administration Will be an added advantage.
Skills & Experience:
• 3-4 years experience in Project management.
• Computer literacy.
• Possess strong leadership skills.
• Must have aptitude to delegate work.
• Ability to multitask, manage stress and handle conflict
resolution.
• Ability to speak English and local language of the duty
station is required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with
ability to handle a team
• Highly developed problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to manage and support management of financial and
operational resources
Post Title 2:
Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
Under the supervision of the Project
Manager, he/she will be responsible for planning, development and
implementation of the integrated monitoring and evaluation strategies.
Duties:
• Monitoring -lead the design and implementation of a
monitoring framework to be able to achieve the set project goals and
objectives.
• Design the monitoring system including methodologies, tools,
and indicators for monitoring and assessing the project.
• Evaluation -lead analysis of data collected.
• Design a process evaluation platform that tracks daily
operations.
• Reporting - Provide regularly updated reports or the status
of the implementation goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
• A University degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics,
Development Planning or related field
Skills & Experience:
• 2-3 years of professional work experience in program
monitoring and evaluation.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of local language of the
duty station is required.
• Strong analytical quantitative research skills
• Good writing, analytical, negotiation, communication and
advocacy skills.
• Computer skills and other software skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
Post Title 3:
Field Officers (2)
Under the supervision of the Project
Manager, he/she will be responsible for implementing the action plans of the
projects in order to achieve the set goals and objectives.
Duties:
• Identify potential farmers to participate in the project.
• Organize regular meetings for framer groups and the
community to sensitize them about the project, quality principles, practices
and standards required.
• Carry out registration of farmers and inspection of the
project guidelines.
• Organize training of farmer groups
• Document and file data required for the project
• Write weekly and monthly reports
• Promote and represent the project and the company at all
levels
• Participate in external inspections when need arises
• Willingness to occasionally work long hours
Qualifications:
• A University diploma in Agriculture or a related field.
Skills & Experience:
• 2-3 years experience in an agribased company.
• Ability to work independently with excellent output
• High integrity and honesty
• Ability to work in the field with good observation skills.
• Good reporting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of farming systems
• Paying attention to the details and the ability to meet
deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team
