Background Information:
The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a leading Christian Organization coordinating over 277 health facilities spread all over Uganda. The UPMB network in conjunction with Mildmay Uganda received funding from PEPFAR to recruit Human Resources for Health for some of its facilities.

POST: Enrolled Midwife [5]
Report to: Nursing officer [Midwifery]
Job Purpose:
 To provide midwifery nursing services and public health interventions to patients and the community.
Location: Wellsprings, Kabungo HC III in Kalungu District, Kako HC in Masaka District;
 Kimwanyi in Lwengo District, and Namutamba HCIII in Mityana District
qualifications:
Must have an Enrolled midwifery Certificate from a recognized institution OR a certificate in Enrolled comprehensive Nursing [for appointment on trial basis for 1 year with a possibility to extend for 2 years.
Other Requirements:
Must be registered with the Nurses and midwives Council. Must have a valid practicing License.
Those who have completed six months remedial training in midwifery are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Receiving patients, registering admissions, discharges and deaths.
·         Providing care during pregnancy, labor, delivery and puerperium with emphasis to prevention of infection and complications to mothers and baby.
·         Sensitizing mothers about the benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet.
·         Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
·         Participating in Doctors/clinical officer's ward rounds.
·         Observing and compiling daily ward reports for the attention of the relevant authorities
·         Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them.
·         Managing and accounting for allocated resources.
·         Maintaining a clean and healthy environmentforthe patients.
·         Adhering to professional code of conduct and Ethics.
5. POST: Laboratory Technician [2].
Report to: Medical Officer or Clinical Officer.
Job Purpose:
To carry out generalized laboratory examination for diseases diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control.
 Location: Kalungi and Kako HC III in Kalungu and Masaka Districts respectively.
qualifications:
             Must have a Diploma in Medical laboratory Techniques from a recognized institution.
Other requirements:
Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council
Must have a valid Annual practicing License [APL]
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.       Analyzing and interpreting laboratory results and SUbmitting reports.
2.       Liaising with ward management in preparation of patients for laboratory tests.
3.       Advising clinical staff in collection, handling and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
4.       Participating in primary health care activities.
5.       Compiling, analyzing and preparing performance reports for submission to relevant authorities.
6.       Participating in quality assurance for laboratories. Participating in research activities.
7.       Adhering to professional code of conduct and Ethics.
