Background Information:
The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a leading Christian Organization coordinating over 277 health facilities spread all over Uganda.
The UPMB network in conjunction with Mildmay Uganda received funding from PEPFAR to recruit Human Resources for Health for some of its facilities. UPMB is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill up the vacancies and be part of a professional and seW-driven team dedicated to maintaining quality health care in Uganda.
1. Post: Clinical Officer [6]
Report to: Senior Clinical Officer or Medical Officer
Job Purpose: To diagnose, treat and manage patients in the health units.
Location:
Kalungi HC III, Wellsprings HCIII, in Kalungu District; Kako-Masaka District ;Lulagala and Namutamba HC -Mityana District; Kimwanyi HCIII in Lwengo
qualifications:
             Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Other Requirements:
Must be registered with the Allied Health Professional Council.
Must have a valid Annual Practicing License [APL].
Duties:
·         Diagnosing, treating and managing patients. Managing and accounting for allocated resources.
·         Referring complicated cases.
·         Conducting Health education to patients. Participating in research activities.
·         Adhering to professional codes of conduct and ethics. Participating in continuous professional Development activities.
·         Preparing and Submitting periodic reports.

2. POST: Enrolled Nurse [2]
 Report to: Nursing Officer
Job Purpose:
 To Provide Nursing services and public health interventions to patients.
Location:
Wellsprings and Kabungo HC III in Kalungu District
 qualifications:
Must have a certificate in Enrolled Nursing or Enrolled Comprehensive Nursing from a recognized Nurse training institution.
Other Requirements:
             Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives council.
             Must have a valid practicing License.
 Duties and Responsibilities:
a)      Receiving, registering, admitting and discharging patients.
b)      Providing quality Nursing care and treatment to patients. Observing and keeping proper records about the patients.
c)       Participating in Doctors/clinical officer's ward rounds.
d)      Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them.
e)      Maintaining a clean and healthy environmentforthe patients.
f)       Managing and accounting for allocated resources.
g)      Participating in research activities.
h)      Supervising and appraising support staff.
i)        Sensitizing patients and their attendants about basics health care practices.
j)        Compiling and SUbmitting daily nursing care service activity reports.
k)      Adhering to professional code of conduct and ethics.
3. Nursing Officer [Midwifery] 11]
Report to: Senior Nursing Officer.
Purpose:
To provide midwifery nursing services and public health interventions to patients and the community.
Location: Kalungi HC III -Masaka District
qualifications:
             Must be trained as a Registered Midwife level from a recognized institution.
Other requirements:
Must be registered with the Nurses council and midwives council.
Must have a valid Practicing License.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.       Receiving patients, registering admissions, deliveries, discharges and deaths.
2.       Carrying out antenatal care and identify high risk cases for referrals.
3.       Providing care during pregnancy, labour, delivery and puerperium with emphasis to prevention of infection and complications to mother and baby.
4.       Sensitizing mothers about benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet.
5.       Participating in the bed side nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
6.       Participating in Doctors/clinical officer's ward rounds. Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them.
7.       Requisitioning and accounting for medical supplies and sundries.
8.       Participating in research activities.
9.       Imparting knowledge and skills to students and staff. Adhering to professional code of conduct and Ethics. Carrying out Human Resource Management functions such as training and staff performance appraisal.
10.   Compiling daily ward report and handing over to in coming shift.
