Background Information:
Terre des Hommes Netherlands is looking for a Country Manager with a
starting date of September 1st, 2013 to be based in Kampala Uganda. Terre des
Hommes Netherlands supports services for children in need through partner
organisations.
Job years of experience: 3-5 years
Responsibilities
• Programme Direction - Improved quality of Terre des Hommes Netherlands
reports, planning and strategizing.
• Programme results - Improved quality of programmes consisting of project
partner projects and appropriate services to beneficiaries.
• Project Funding - Improved cohesion between project implementation and
budgets and timely expenditure of the budgets on programmes.
• Capacity building of partners- Improved quality of projects and
assistance to beneficiaries and sufficient quality information to the donors.
• Representation, networking and fundraising. Good relationships with all
kind of funding related organisations and institutions, good fundraising
results and efficient information supply to the Marketing& communication
department and to donors.
• HR & leadership.
• Finance and administration of the country office.
• Legal affairs.
• Safety and security.
• Quality management, knowledge management and efficiency.
• National focal point child safeguarding.
• Advice for the programme manager and cooperation with other country
managers.
Qualifications
·
University level in sociology,
development studies, child rights, health or education.
·
Five years experience in a
similar position, in development cooperation.
·
Experience in Child Rights based
programming and financial management.
·
Skilled in report writing,
computer packages and fluency in English.
·
Communication skills, team spirit
and leadership qualities.
·
At least 3 years of management
experience.
·
Knowledge of programme management
and the political, religious and social structures of the respective developing
country/ region and the relevant foreign languages.
