Title: Claims Manager

Background
Information:
Deloitte (Uganda) Limited is seeking to
recruit suitably qualified individuals for the positions of Finance Manager and
Claims Manager on behalf of our client, a General Insurance Company in Uganda
and also part of a Multi-national Group. Our client seeks to recruit
well-qualified, experienced, and mature professionals to head its;
Finance and
Administration Functions and Claims Function.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Designing, implementing,
monitoring, and evaluation of claims processing and related systems of the
company;
·
Ensuring that budgeting for the
department is carried out within the given parameters and delivered in time;
·
Ensuring all reports are
produced accurately and delivered within the agreed timelines;
·
Ensuring efficient and
effective claims management; Ensuring proper claims reserving;
·
Ensuring proper management of
legal matters by handling legal documentation, providing and/ or obtaining
legal advice on all court related matters, and drafting legal documentation;
·
Ensuring proper management of
internal controls, compliance and regulatory requirements; and
·
Maintenance of sound business
relationships with key stakeholders.
Skills
and Qualifications
·
First University Degree,
preferably Social Sciences, Law, or any related field;
·
Be a Qualified insurer with the
Association of Chartered Insurance Institute;
·
Have a minimum offive (5) years
post qualification experience Have thorough knowledge of non-life insurance
business;
·
Have good written and oral
communication skills;
·
Have good interpersonal skills;
·
Demonstrate leadership ability;
·
Have a good understanding of
the Insurance Act, (Cap 213) Laws of Uganda, 2000; the Insurance (Amendment)
Act 13 of2011; and the Insurance Regulations 2002;
·
Have excellent analytical and
abstract reasoning skills;
·
Have good team building skills;
and
·
Be an active member of the
Insurance Institute of Uganda (or its equivalent).
