Background
Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a dynamic and
competent individual to fill the position of Gender and Inclusion Officer based
in Kampala with frequent travel to the field especially in the areas of Busoga, West Nile, Albertine, and Rwenzori Sub Region.
The person is responsible for ensuring gender-transformative outcomes in Enabel’s projects and specifically in the We Work Project, by undertaking
gender and inclusion-specific actions as well as ensuring gender and inclusion
mainstreaming.
Job description
Ø
You conduct Gender and Inclusion(G&I) rapid
analysis for the relevant sectors as the need may arise, map and identify gender
and inclusion concerns.
Ø
You enhance gender and inclusion programming
capacity, though, conducting G&I Trainings, awareness raising, and advocacy
with stakeholders and project teams.
Ø
You routinely document and update information on
G&I so that it is available to the M&E systems and that the performance
of the portfolio /intervention can be measured.
Ø
You participate in technical forums in through
Gender and Inclusion area
Ø
You enhance gender and inclusion programming
capacity, though, conducting G&I Trainings, awareness raising, and advocacy
with stakeholders and project teams.

Your profile
Ø
Master’s degree in Gender, Development studies,
social sciences, or other relevant field related to the area of expertise;
Ø
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in gender
and Inclusion programming;
Ø
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the implementation of human rights and community development-based projects
Ø
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
and to demonstrate gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory behavior and attitudes.
Ø
Good knowledge of gender and women's economic
empowerment in the communities and in the world of work
Ø
Good knowledge and understanding of gender,
skilling health, and/ or education sectors.
Ø
Experience in gender and inclusion policy, legal
and institutional framework in Uganda
Ø
Knowledgeable about change theories, knowledge
management, and knowledge building
