Organizational Profile:
Buganda land Board is an agency of the Kabaka of Buganda which was
entrusted with managing land belonging to Buganda Kingdom.
Buganda Land Board is seeking to recruit experienced, qualified, self-d
riven and competent individuals who will match with its vision of being a
centre of excellence in Entrepreneurial land management and development in Uganda
and beyond.
The Legal Officer will be responsible for the following roles;
·
Coordinate with Tenants, external
counsel and other stake holders to obtain and exchange information and
documentation related to legal matters.
·
Following up on the Titling of
process.
·
Prepare legal correspondence and
presentations.
·
Inspecting of disputed areas to
assess the viability of filing cases.
·
Collaborating with other
departments to direct Land compliance issues.
·
Instigating and following up of
criminal trespass cases.
·
Following up of civil suits to
obtain and confirm hearings in liaison with court clerks.
·
Working with bailiffs to enforce
decrees as awarded by court.
·
Servicing of process and or
correspondences when required.
·
Visiting sites with related
officers and verify facts as presented.
Qualifications & Experience
·
A degree in Bachelor of Laws and
a Diploma in Legal practice
·
Have a good understanding and
knowledge of Land Property Laws.
·
Be an effective communicator with
good interpersonal skills and ability to meet critical deadlines.
·
Proactive, a good interpersonal
relationship and knowledge of working with communities.
·
Confidentiality is paramount.
