Job Description

We are recruiting volunteers passionate about youth development to support our long-term programme (6 and 12 months) in Uganda!
Inter-Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE UK) is an ethical volunteering charity with extensive experience in international volunteering. ICYE UK volunteers live and work in countries throughout Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe, helping to support local NGOs, communities and to develop their own skills and experiences. Individuals can volunteer for between 3 weeks- 12 months. As part of an international federation of NGOs, ICYE UK ensures excellent training and support and prides itself on breaking cultural barriers and bringing different people together. Uniquely ICYE UK also receives and supports young people from all over the world to volunteer at social projects throughout the UK as part of a global exchange.
We are recruiting volunteers to support local NGOs that are helping to rehabilitate young people with drug and alcohol problems, working with children and young people who have been victims of abuse, education, running awareness campaigns and workshops. All projects are run by local people and rely heavily on the support of local and international volunteers to develop their work. Therefore we require dedicated and responsible volunteers.
Whether you're graduating soon, looking for a career break/change, ICYE provides comprehensive training and support to ensure you get the most from your time away.
The Long Term programme fee is all-inclusive and includes: flights, accommodation and food, travel costs to and from project, health insurance, visas, language lessons and monthly pocket money. Bursaries are also available (£1500 bursary deadline: 11th March 2015). Applications for the programme are accepted throughout the year.
