Background Information:

Mental Health Uganda (MHU) is a national, membership, indigenous, (NGO) of people with and survivors of mental illness started in 1997 to ensure that, ‘people with and survivors of mental illness in society are embraced with respect and enjoy their human rights as other citizens’.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·             Be a leader in fundraising;
·             Together with field officers, plan for timely implementation of project activities;
·             Ensure timely reporting to the ED and relevant partners;
·             Monitoring and Evaluation;
·             Building the capacity of local level groups in local level advocacy, and human rights promotion and protection;
·             Support communities to identify priority areas and participate in the national budgeting process at local level;
·              Documentation of success stories, lessons learnt and sustainability mechanisms to work as bench marks for future project interventions;
·             Attend partners and coalition meetings;
·             Actively participate in coalition district and national level advocacy events;
·             Creating and strengthening partnerships;
·             Any other role assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications and Experience
·         Bachelor of Arts preferably in social sciences, development studies, Counselling, Psychology, community studies, and project monitoring and management.
·         A minimum of 5 years experience and knowledge in implementing health rights programmes. Experience in project result oriented management, fundraising, partnership building and strengthening, networking, and communication is a requirement.
·          The applicant should be computer literate with good knowledge of major computer packages that enable him/her accomplish his role with minimum support.
·          Previous work with vulnerable persons especially persons living with disabilities is an added advantage.
