Minimum Academic Qualifications:

Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of Academic qualifications in various disdplines in line with the categorization indicated below:
1) Category 1 : Information Communication Technology (25 vacancies)
Honours Bachelors Degree in either Information Technology or Computer Sdence or Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Systems design and Analysis or Statistics (Computing Option) or any other relevant qualification [Computing Option).
2)Category 2 : Public Relations/Journalism (6 Vacancies)
Honours Bachelors Degree erther Public Relations or Journalism or Mass Communication
3)Category 3 : Engineering (1 Vacancy) Honours Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
3)Category 4: Other Disciplines (118 vacancies) Honours Bachelors Degree in either in Arts, or Sodal
Sciences or Social Work and Social Administration (SWSA) or Management or Management Science or International Business Studies or Statistics or law or Business Administration and Management or Development Studies or Public Administration and Management or Ethics or Tourism, and any other Course in Humanrties.
Possession of a Masters Degree in tile relevant disdpline and knowledge of foreign language such as Chinese and Arabic will be an added adVantage.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Immigration Officer for perfonning the foliOlving duties.
·         Processing travel documents, worl( and residence permits.
·         Border patrol.
·         Compiling Immigration statistics.
·         Carrying out investigations regarding immigration matters.
·         Issuing of entry and em visas.
·         Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified University Graduates to fill the following vacant posts.

to be received not later than 12th January 2015
The Application and Summary Forms are obtainable from the Public Service Commission Office, 2nd Floor, Farmers House, PartiamentAVenue, Kampala, MinistrylDepartment Headquarters and District Sefvice Commission Offices, www.psc.go.ug Hand written applications are also acceptable.
Applications forms should bear the title of the post followed by the Reference Number specified against the vacancy.
The appropriate AdVert Title e.g. 'PSC Extemal Advert. No. 312014' should be clearly indicated on the top of each first page of the Application Fonn No. 3 (2008). Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials.
Applicants subsequently shortlisted for oral interviews for the post of Immigration Officer, Scale U4. and their names displayed on the PSC website; www.psc. go.ug and on the PSC Notice Board shall be required to present certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and certificates at the time of sitting the oral interviews.
Applicants should attach three (3) recent certified passport size photographs.
Serving officers already appointed in the Public Service shall not be considered for posts of Immigration Officer, Scale U4. Falsification of or non disclosure of information shall lead to automatic disqualification.
Applicanls who shall not hear from the Public Service Commission, on completion of the selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful for both posts.
