Job Purpose/Objective: To repair or replace broken or
malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment in the plant to minimize
breakdowns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the
installation of new machines in the plant.
2. Ensures
operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive
maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems,
and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals,
manufacturer's instructions, and engineering pecifications; troubleshooting
malfunctions.
3. Correctly use
and Maintain P.P.E’s at all times.
4. Report and
assist in the analysis of incidents or potential hazards.
5. Monitor and
record the use of work place consumables and make requisitions where required.
6. Fabricates
repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
7. Use and maintain
workshop tooling in accordance to working conditions and specifications.
8. Daily check and
confirm that machines meet safety standards
9. Plans and
develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment
maintenance.
10. Diagnose
mechanical problems and carry out corrective maintenance where possible and
refer complex situations to the Mechanical Supervisor
11. Prepare daily
maintenance reports for submission to the Mechanical Supervisor and Production
Officer
12. Provide
operational support to the Machine Operators
13. General
housekeeping and machinery.
Personal specification:
Higher or Ordinary
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must have at least 2 years
experience of Mechanical repair and maintenance in a manufacturing industry.
