1. POST:: JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT
REFERENCE: ADM/140/202/01
NUMBER OF VACANCIES: THREE (03)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Every Applicant should have served as a Justice of Appeal or Judge of the
High Court or a court of similar jurisdiction to such a court or has practiced
as an Advocate for a period of not less than fifteen years before a court
having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters.
2. POST: JUSTICE OF APPEAL

NUMBER OF VACANCIES: THREE (03)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Every Applicant should have served as a Judge of the High Court or a court
having similar or higher jurisdiction or has practiced as an Advocate for a
period of not less than ten years before a court having unlimited jurisdiction
in civil and criminal matters or is a distinguished jurist and an advocate of
not less than ten years’ standing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Every Applicant should currently be or should have served as a Judge of a
court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters or a court
having jurisdiction in appeals from any such court or has practiced as an
Advocate for a period of not less than ten years before a court having unlimited
jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters.

For all the above vacancies, any period during which a person has practiced
as a public officer holding an office for which qualification as an Advocate is
required shall be taken into account in calculating the various periods of
practice required above.
Application Procedure:
Applications should be submitted, in triplicate, to
the Secretary, Judicial service Commission, Farmers’ House,
P. O Box 7679 Kampala
and be received not later than 30th April 2014.
Applications should bear the title of the post applied for as well as the
reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an LLB degree from a recognized
University/Institution plus a post graduate diploma in Legal practice from the
Law Development Center, Kampala Uganda or its equivalent.
Any relevant advanced/ post graduate qualification (s) will be of added
advantage.
Applicants should attach their up to date Curriculum Vitae (C.V)
accompanied by:
• 2 samples of your professional papers/publications
– including sample judgments (for Judges), written submissions filed before
courts of law (for Advocates), or journal articles.
• 10 recent passport size photographs of your face.
• 3 names and contacts of your professional referees.
• 3 names and contacts of your character referees.
• A copy of the latest written Declaration Form of Income, Assets and
Liabilities to the Inspectorate of Government, IGG. (where applicable).
• A copy of your current practicing certificate (for Advocates)
