Job Purpose/Objective:

To identify applicable environmental regulations and risks and ensuring conformance of staff to EHS Policies and Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Draft, implement and maintain policies and guidelines on Occupational, Health and Safety.

2. Develop, implement, administer, and maintain EHS protocol of use of PPEs and adherence to safety and health related programs.

3. Review and update the corporate EHS management system manual and monitor its implementation

4. Prepare OHS training plan and in coordination with the Human Resource Department provide relevant training to staff.

5. Formulating corporate short term and long term EHS objectives and plans

6. Carry out accident and incident investigations.

7. Promote OHS plans and monitor, evaluate and report performance against plan

8. Maintain auditing expertise and ensure execution of the quarterly audit program

9. Maintain contacts with external parties regarding environment, Health and Safety, including government institutions.

10. Provide advice on Environment, Health and safety to line departments

11. Promote the potential incident reporting culture by compiling all filled in reports

12. Adhere to the health and safety and QMS guidelines at all times.

13. Compile EHS data and report all reportable incidents to HOD accurately and within specified time frame

Personal specification:

Graduates of degree in Environmental Technology/ Science or Industrial Chemistry or Environmental Engineering and any other related discipline. Post graduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety will be an added advantage.

Candidates must have strong knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety and at least three years’ relevant working experience in a similar role in a large manufacturing company.
