Position Title: Specialist – Pediatrics

Job Description:
Nakasero Hospital Limited (NHL) is a leading private Hospital based in
Kampala. Our mission is to offer patients a superior level of medical care,
ensuring access to quality service, provided with compassion at all times. We
are looking to fill the positions of Specialists in the area of Pediatrics (1)
and Internal Medicine (1), reporting to the Head of Medical Services.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
MMED in Pediatrics or Equivalent
from a Recognized University/College
EXPERIENCE:
1 year post qualification (MMED or equivalent)
Must be in active clinical practice since qualification
• Manage all Pediatrics referrals
• Run regular outpatient clinics in Pediatrics, including reviewing clients
in immunization clinics
• Look after in-patients admitted under their care, including those in
Neonatal ICU
• Collaborate with other Pediatricians in ensuring 24hr daily coverage of
the Department
• Review consults coming from other clinical departments and advise the referring
clinicians accordingly
• Assess new-borns in liaison with the obstetricians
• Supervise Medical officers, SHOs and other junior staff under their care
• Conduct regular chart and mortality audits and advise management on how
to improve quality of care
• Coordinate CMEs in the department
• Coordinate Multidisciplinary meetings in the Department
• Develop plans for expansion of the services in the department and advise
management accordingly.
• Ensure observance of ethical practice in the department

• Ready to multitask
• Leadership ability.
