Officer
Post Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Background Information:
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is a church founded private not-for-profit
organization whose mission is to supply medicines, medical equipment and
related health care services of assured quality to the people of Uganda at
affordable prices.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will among other things:
a) Inspect all incoming products and audit documentation to ensure that
they conform to the set quality standards and specifications.
b) Inspect all stored products routinely and ensure compliance with good
pharmaceutical storage practice.
c) Take samples from received batches of products in line with the relevant
Standard Operating Procedures and pre-defined criteria and analyze or submit to
a nominated laboratory for analysis through the Head of Quality Assurance.
d) Provide support to quality assurance audits, training and sensitization
on quality assurance to both the registered units and JMS staff.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
• Diploma in Pharmacy, at least two years working experience in a busy
wholesale pharmaceutical outlet or manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge of and exposure to the current challenges in proper management
of medical
supplies.
• Valid practicing license from Allied Health Professionals Council and
training in the area of Quality Management Systems will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Able to prioritize work load, use initiative, and work as part of a team.
• Analytical, innovative and able to identify strategies for improvement of
quality.
• Proficiency in MS Office PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, Enterprise Resource
Planning applications.
