Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is a foundation
focusing on sustainable agricultural development, specifically supporting smallholder coffee farmers.
With its projects it aims to improve their livelihoods by
enhancing their productivity,
competitiveness and participation in the value chain. Activities
focus on the implementation of extension systems, on the development of farmer
organizations, and on the establishment of
efficient market linkages and access to important
support services.
As an implementer under
the "Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) -
Uganda:
Agriculture Adaptation to Climate Change"
funded by the European Union and
coordinated by the FAO, Hanns R. Neumann
Stiftung Africa wishes to recruit the
following highly motivated experts
All the positions
will be based in the greater Luwero area.
Post Title: Field
Officers
Reporting: to the Field Operations Manager, you will be responsible for implementing an effective agricultural extension system for enhancing the capacity of smallholder farmers to adapt to the effects of climate change on their coffee production.
You will also collaborate with
agricultural/climate change research organizations in conducting studies and in implementing trials of adaptation practices.
You are an expert in sustainable coffee farming systems with a strong background in environmental and soil/ water
conservation practices, and with a minimum of 5 years of experience in extension work in rural locations.
You should preferably have an agricultural or related field qualification at Degree
level and be computer
literate.
You should possess a
valid license to ride a motorbike.
Post Title: Monitoring
& Evaluation Officer
Reporting: to the Field Operations Manager and to the M&E Coordinator you will be responsible for setting up a system for monitoring
improvements and impact at field level, assessing field reports and
Under taking regular field visits to verify data submitted. You will also be required to implement computerized monitoring programs.
You are an expert in Monitoring and Evaluation with a minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluating progress in agricultural/environmental projects.
Understanding of coffee
production systems is an advantage.
You should have education to degree level and be highly computer literate.
You should possess a valid license to ride a motorbike.
