Background
Information:
Sebei Diocese Church of Uganda is one of the 34 Dioceses of
the Church of the Province of Uganda. Diocese is a Christ centred Church
committed to fulfilling the Great Commission as assign by the Lord Jesus Christ
in Matthew 28:16 to 20. This is done in a holistic approach, which includes
Child Development Ministry.
In this regard Sebei
Diocese being a Christian Organization invites applications from born again professionals
for ministry work to fill the vacancies of Child Development Officer (3 posts)
and Child Survival Program Implementer (1post).
Responsibilities:
1. Be a Christian model for children and their families
2. Be an advocate for children
3. Be able to help children correspond with their sponsors
4. Be creative and innovative in the whole area of Child
Development
5. Project activity planning and implementation
6. Ensure working in a team and be a team player
7. Ensure satisfactory learning processes, whether formal or
informal
8. Any other child related and Christian work assigned by
the Project Director
Knowledge, skills,
responsibilities required for CDOs:
1. Minimum Qualification is Diploma in Social Work and
Social Administration, Social Sciences; Development Studies, Education; Business
Administration Accounting and from a recognized Institution
2. Proven integrity in personal and public life in line with
the Christian values.
3. Impart knowledge on entrepreneurship, Hygiene, Water and
Sanitation
4. Documentation, record keeping/ filing of sponsor relation
issues
5. Child Development Programming for an assigned age group
6. Working knowledge of basic NGO accounting.
7. Working ability to apply and adapt established accounting
procedures to a variety of accounting transactions, problems and situations.
8. Working ability to communicate, both orally and in
writing.
9. Knowledge of financial elements of spreadsheets, databases,
and word processing software.
10.Computer knowledge especially in Excel Knowledge, skills,
responsibilities required for CSP Implementer.
a) Born again Christian who is a model in word, deed, life
style and demonstrates involvement in Christian ministry.
b) Must have at least a diploma certificate in Social Work,
Education, Sociology, Nursing & Midwifery, Community Health, Nutrition or Clinical
Medicine.
c) Should be aged between 25 to 45 years with experience in
one of the CSP components such as GBIFFF and maternal child health intervention
program.
d) 2 years working experience in social work setting is an
added advantage.
e) Should be a person with good social skills, high
integrity and a good steward who can be trusted by persons who prefer non intrusive
life style.
f) Highly motivated to carry out home visits and group
trainings that involve parents and their children in non class room settings.
g) Should have a developmental mindset and ability to design
and implement mother child survival interventions that are centralized.
h) Ability to design a stimulating environment for children
amidst adult settings using locally available resources/materials.
Working conditions:
H/she shall work at a local Church project including
visiting children in their homes and schools.
Should be prepared to
work beyond normal working hours as need arises and travels to the Compassion
International Uganda Office from time to time as well as for training.
