Required Skills

  •     Proven ability to work with and manage a diverse international team and proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills;
  •     Sound understanding and capability to empower and develop the capacity of others at both national and sub-national level;
  •     Demonstrated ability to address rights (women, children, youth and other vulnerable groups) in the design/delivery of influencing work is preferred;
  •     Highly developed planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  •     Knowledge of USAID financial management and reporting requirements is highly desirable;
  •     Excellent representational and communication skills, written and oral proficiency in English, and verbal communication skills in one or more local languages.
  •     Knowledge of Microsoft software packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  •     Experience with learning technology tools such as Adobe Flash, Raindance, Webex, Acrobat, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop.
  •     Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Required Experience

  •     Masters' degree or higher in Economics, Development Planning or related field;
  •     A minimum of 5 years demonstrated work experience and skills in Organizational Development.
  •     Demonstrated experience providing advisory services in the area of capacity development;
  •     Demonstrated ability to design capacity building strategies based on clear needs identification and understanding of the operating context, and experience of working with CSOs, with national or local governments shall also be useful;
  •     Proven experience in development of interventions to improve quality, efficiency and sustainability of civil society and communities in Uganda or other regional countries is desirable.
  •     Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance, one-on-one mentoring, and small group training sessions is desirable;
  •     Demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning and program/project management for Government/donor initiatives is essential;
  •     Familiarity with Public expenditure management and accountability;
