Abaana Ministries is currently looking for a New Life Homes
manager. The New Life Homes is a transitional home for street children,
currently all boys, in Kiwumu, past Gayaza. As Abaana Ministries works with
vulnerable people due to a Biblical mandate to care for others, the ideal
candidate will be looking to use their skills and gifts in a Christian
environment, and, alongside other staff, will play an active part in the devotion
and prayer life of the organisation.

The role is full
time, residential, with one day off each week and one weekend off per month, as
well as times of annual leave.
The successful candidate must have the following:
• Qualifications:
The candidate must
have a degree or diploma in social work or child care / development, including
counselling skills, with some kind of Bible school or Christian theology an
advantage.
They should also have experience or training in project management,
such as managing staff, budgets, planning and monitoring
• experience: The
candidate must have experience working with vulnerable children in a
residential setting, and ideally experience working for a Christian NGO or
development agency

social worker at the New Life Homes, with a particular responsibility for
resettlement.
The successful candidate must have the following:

Successful applicants will be invited for interview during the
week starting monday 22nd July. Abaana is ideally looking for someone to begin
immediately, though will bear in mind candidates’ notice periods, if they are working.
The role will begin with a 6 month probationary period. Contracts in Abaana are
usually made on a 2 year renewal basis.
