Job Title: Head of Internal Auditor

Organisation: Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited

Location: Kampala,Uganda

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following position in the

Internal Audit Department.

 I. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement internal audit strategy, procedures, policies and performance plan.

• Develop an annual audit plan using input from the team and stakeholders to identify priorities and resource requirements.

• Schedule and assign audits to team members, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.

• Ensure quality control of the team’s audit plans on an ongoing basis by reviewing and approving plans as they are developed and communicated.

• Oversee and provide quality control for the department’s audits, to ensure departmental mandate and business goals are met and that professional standards are maintained at all times.

• Conduct audit reviews with all the banks’ branches to ensure that the controls are sufficient, Ensure completion of audit assignments to provide independent, objective assurance to the Board of Directors Audit Committee.

• Work closely with Finance and Operations departments to co-ordinate Central Bank inspection audits and ensures efficient access to books and records

• Ensure that overall Fraud Investigation strategy, operational plan, policies and procedures are implemented.

II. Personal Specifications

Qualifications:

• Membership of a professional body(ACCA,IIA,CIA,ICPAU)

• University degree preferably in Accounting,

Finance or Management.

Experience.

• Minimum of five years experience in Audit practice in a Financial services institution.

• Minimum of four years experience in General Management.

Skills.

• Communications skills

• Analystical, problem solving and decision making skills

• Proficiency in computer packages(MS Excel and Word)
