Job Purpose:
To maintain and manage Uganda Telecom’s Information Systems, ensure adequate capacity, system availability and excellent user support is provided.
Applicants must have:
· 6 years’ experience of which 3 years in managing the IT function of a reputable organisation; experience in IT service delivery
· Experience with SLA management
· Experience with vendor management.
· Enterprise and Infrastructure management (LAN, WAN, server, operating systems, databases etc.)
Duties and Responsibilities:
· To contribute towards the development of the Information services strategy that is in line with the overall company strategy
· To participate in the establishment of companywide standards for business support systems.
· To manage business continuity and disaster recovery procedures with periodic testing.
· To lead, motivate, coach and advise the enterprise systems team to achieve performance and continual improvement in supporting the Information services users.
· To facilitate user’s capability to use the Enterprise systems and IT services
· To oversee timely resolution of desktop, infrastructure and business support systems incidents, requests and queries
· To oversee the daily operational activities of the Enterprise Systems team.
· To oversee functional and user acceptance testing of system patches
· To setup and configure master data in business support systems
· To give regular updates to users on system functionalities and new IT services
· To coordinate and oversee the IT – Business User relationship and communication
· To coordinate preparation and manage the IT Infrastructure and Enterprise Systems OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
· To provide clear direction and communicate the implication and interdependencies of each functional unit
· To develop, continually monitor and improve the internal core and support processes so as to deliver excellent desktop and business support services
· To coordinate regular cross-functional forums for discussion and resolution of system problems / issues
