NU-HITES (Northern Uganda Health Integration to Improve
Services) is a USAID funded project in northern Uganda to improve access to /
regular use of basic health services and requires intensive monitoring and
evaluation at many levels with many stakeholders. Plan Uganda is an equal

This position reports to the Sub-Regional Project
Coordinator and the successful candidate will be a member of the Sub-Region-based
technical team and will specifically be responsible for coordinating planning,
implementation and monitoring of comprehensive HIV health services at
subregional level. It is a full-time position based in Gulu for a five year term,
with frequent travel to districts through the Northern Region of Uganda.
Specific
Responsibilities
• Participate in designing, implementation and monitoring of
comprehensive HIV/AIDS services so as to contribute to achievement of project
targets.
• Provides technical support to the district health teams
and CSO partners during annual work-plan development,especially in regard to TB
and HIV prevention, care, treatment
• Represent NU-HITES project in the TB and HIV technical working
groups in the project supported districts.
Qualifications
/Skills/Experience
• A Medical Doctor. A MPH or Masters degree in other
clinical disciplines is added advantage.
• Additional training in TB/HIV prevention, care and
treatment
• At least 5 years of professional experience working in
HIV/ AIDS prevention, care & treatment programs in public and/or private
sector.
• Practical experience in working with district and
community health systems including Village Health Teams (VHT) and HIV/AIDS peer
support networks.
• Experience in HIV capacity building for health facility
and community health delivery teams.
• Willingness to work in Northern Uganda and travel 60% of
the time in field.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft office programs including
MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point.
