Post  Title: Grants Manager

The USAID funded SAFE Program is seeking qualified

The Grants Manager will manage a dynamic portfolio of Program funded grants working with partner
organizations in districts throughout the country.
Qualifications:
Competitive candidates will have;
• 5 or more years experience as a Grants Manager
• Experience with USAID technical and financial reporting requirements
• Strong organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics in grant-making
• Strong public speaking and training experience.
• Expertise working with computer software, including
Excel and word processing
• Fluency in a regional language of Uganda
• University degree in a relevant field
Post Title:Legal Officer: One (1)
Organisation: The USAID funded SAFE Program
Salary benefits: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Basic Functions:
1. Training of Government officials and Civil Society Organizations on land administration and other land
related legal issues
2. Facilitate peer-to-peer mentoring between participating districts in the Program
3. Provide grant recipient training and technical assistance
4. Participate and contribute to all required reporting
5. Other responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
Mandatory
• Bachelor Degree of Laws
• Post-graduate diploma in legal practice
• Minimum of two-three years of legal work experience, preferably with projects/NGOs in the area of human rights, legal aid, resolution of land conflict, and capacity building of communities and local government.
• Proficiency in English writing skills demonstrated by experience in donor report writing
• Strong public speaking and training experience.
• Expertise working with computer software, wordprocessing, information management programs
• Clear commitment to the vision, mission, and values of NCSC and USAID
• Ability to engage in frequent in-country travel.
• Ability to work within a collaborative program structure involving staff from three separate organizations with multiple lines of reporting and evaluation.
• Result-oriented with ability to work under pressure,
independently and with limited supervision
Desired:
• Fluency in a regional language of Uganda
• Experience working with/knowledge of informal
mechanisms for dispute resolution in a developing
country.
• Project management skills and understanding of donor requirements.
