Nakasero Hospital Limited (NHL) is a private hospital in Kampala that opened its doors to out-patient treatment in March ol 2009 and in­patient treatment, the same year. The main objective of the hospital is to provide quality medical care to patients and to fill a gap created by lack of adequate medical facilities in the country, forcing medical treatment to be sought outside the region.

Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer

Role: Responsible for reviewing, compiling, and reporting of day- to-day financial transactions pertaining to the general accounting functions for various business units within the hospital.

    Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies and procedures, including the identification of process improvements.
    Provide accurate and timely information as required.


Requirement:

    Minimum of an Accounting or Business related degree from a recognized institution. Must have a professional accounting qualification with a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience. Experience in the health insurance or hospital industry is preferred.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following key requirements:

    Report Preparation:
  Review the accuracy of accounting records in the organization to ensure they give a true and fair view of the records of the organization.
   Payroll Management:

•  Review the accuracy and completeness of the payroll, review and control the payroll related tax computations and ensure that all payroll documentation is properly organized and filed.
•     Statutory Obligations: Review all tax related computations and ensure submission of returns by the respective due dates and participate in the preparation of corporation tax computations and ensure filing by the due dates.
•     Stock Monitoring: Participate in the organization and execution of monthly stock taking exercises. Review the stock take results and keep a log of relevant explanations for all variances.
•     Audit: Facilitate both internal and external auditors in compliance with the regulatory framework.
•     Participate in the preparation of annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
•     Participate in tax and other Government agencies inspections.
