JOB PURPOSE
• The job holder will be responsible for carrying out duties that will support the implementation of the Bank’s Financial Markets function, tactical plans, and duties in line with market practices, activities, and policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /KEY DELIVERABLES
ü
Carry out dealing/inter-bank borrowing, lending, and foreign exchange activity from end to end to
ensure that all the Bank’s interests are protected, and financial targets are
met within the set mandate.
ü
Effectively
monitor funds in all the Nostro and Clearing accounts to ensure adequate funds
to meet payment obligations are made available and surpluses are gainfully
invested.
ü
Carry out trading
within set internal and statutory limits to mitigate counter-party risk and any
regulatory breaches.
ü
Ensure a cordial
and vibrant relationship with all financial market clients and financial
institutions.
ü
Carry out trading
activities while ensuring that the Bank meets all external and liquidity
requirements.
ü
Take an active
part in deposit mobilization to enable the Bank to grow its deposit base and
boost liquidity.
ü
Liaise actively
with branch managers and business growth staff to achieve proper domestic
business targets.
ü
Participate
directly in revenue and income generation and monitor business performance on
an ongoing business Vs budget and take proactive measures to close gaps.
ü
Ensure that the
current and prospective clients of the Bank are serviced efficiently by the quick
quotation of rates, quality inputs on the markets regular contact on the telephone, and follow-up on key deliverables from customer calls.
ü
Ensure Asset and liability management activities/functions are in line with policy and as per
the Bank’s strategy.
ü Maintain a point of contact for
inquiries, concerns, and escalations within the agreed service level
agreements. This includes serving as a link of communication between customers
and internal stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
ü
Bachelor’s Degree
in Business Administration, International Business, Finance, Commerce, or its
equivalent.
ü
ACI certificate is
an added advantage.
ü
Aggressive
Salesperson, including multitasking and time-management.
ü
Strong
client-facing, customer care and good communication skills.
ü
Excellent team
player, with leadership skills and ability to work with branch teams.
ü
Excellent report
writing skills.
ü
Ability to make
business decisions independently
ü
The ability to
communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner
is deemed essential.
ü
Ability to
demonstrate positive image and role model of PBU’s values and leadership behaviors.
ü
A sense of
ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the company’s success.
ü Must be a person of impeccable
integrity.
