Job Summary:
This role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in
Financial, Risk, and Administrative management and implementation.

partnership with public, private, and civil society institutions to improve the
quality of life of Ugandans through the provision of superior and affordable
health care solutions. Using the Good Life Platform as its launch pad, UHMG has
employed uniquely designed interventions and innovative behavior change
communication approaches to raise people’s awareness of and demand for health
care services for Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria, and Maternal & Child

We are looking for a dynamic and suitably qualified individual to fill the
following position as part of our Management Team based at the UHMG Head
Office, Kampala, Uganda. The position requires a leader that has a high degree
of flexibility and integrity, and the capacity to deliver beyond expectations
in order to meet the company’s strategic goals.
Essential Job Functions:
·
Oversees and leads the annual organization
budgeting and financial planning process in conjunction with the MD; and
reviews all financial plans and budgets; monitors progress and changes, and
keeps the senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial
status.

Manages organizational cash flow,
forecasts, and risk management.
·
Manages and monitors all
administrative activities and develops strategies for effective delivery of
administrative services.
·
Establishes and monitors
administration and logistics procedures in line with Organizational
requirements, and provides oversight management to the administrative function.
·
Implements a robust contracts
management and financial management/ reporting system; ensures that the
contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to, and that financial data
and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.

Works closely and transparently with
all external partners including Third-Party Vendors and Consultants.
·
Provides professional and technical accounting
and financial services and oversight in line with International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS).
·
Analyzes and presents financial
reports in an accurate and timely manner, and clearly communicates monthly and
annual financial statements.
·
Coordinates and leads the annual
audit processes, liaises with external auditors and the Finance and Planning
Committee of the Board of Directors.

Oversees the improvement and update
of all Finance and Administration policies and procedures manuals.
·
Provides Financial Ratio Analysis on
a monthly basis, clearly stipulating the business growth and any associated
risks.

Identifies funding opportunities and
liaises with the Resource Mobilization Unit to coordinate efforts to mobilize
financial resources.

Supervises and motivates staff in
the department and builds their capacities in line with the organizational
strategy and policies.
·
Promotes a results-based performance
management evaluation system, ensuring that key targets are achieved in line
with the organization objectives.
Minimum qualifications and working experience:
The candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting,
Commerce, Business Administration, or any other related field. He or She must
possess a professional accounting qualification and be a member of the
respective professional body. He or She will possess a first degree in Finance,
Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. The
successful candidate should have at least 7 years management experience in a
finance and administration related role;
Experience in grants and corporate financial management is essential. The
role requires advanced numerical skills – statistical analysis, and financial
modeling and analysis at a high level;
Information Technology – use of specialized software; Advanced people
skills;
Ability to lead a large department;
Good communication and relationship building skills;
A motivated, focused, disciplined
personality, with self-drive and dynamism to work under pressure;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and result-oriented
skills;
tactful, ability to plan, organize
and measure outcomes of interventions; Exemplary, honesty, with a high level of
energy and integrity, and the ability to work independently.
