Job role:
The DSM is a technology minded online and mobile sales manager tasked with
the responsibility to maximize revenue across the online and mobile network of
the company. The DSM is a visionary who
can move seamlessly between the technical and business environment and form
productive partnerships with technical and creative leaders in digital media.
As head of section he/she will manage a sales budget and will be compensated
based on hitting revenue targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Under direction from
Advertising Manager coordinate with Head of Marketing, Online Editor, and Head
of News to develop the vision for the digital section as a business and
technology leader in the country using industry and technology trends, and
consumer insights.
- Partner with Content Managers,
Editors, Designers, developers and other staff to ensure digital platforms meet
both audience and client needs
- Track performance against goals
using robust web and mobile analytics
- Develop digital sales
strategies which will integrate with all channels to deliver superb advertising
solutions to clients
- Collect and compile periodic
market and competitor intelligence reports on digital performance of all
digital marketing campaigns
- Plan and execute all Web,
Mobile, SEO, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising
campaigns
- Brainstorm new and creative
growth strategies by studying client trends, spend and performance
- Utilize strong analytical
ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across the digital platform
- Conceive, create and execute
innovative online and mobile media
advertising programs
Required Abilities & Competences:
- A Bachelor's degree in a
business-related course
- 4 years sales management
experience (2 years in mobile media or digital sales will be an added
advantage)
- Solid knowledge of website
analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
- An entrepreneurial spirit with
demonstrated business acumen with a clear ability to deliver desired results.
- Leadership and managerial
skills to lead a sizeable team and nurture and retain talent while managing
performance and team growth.
- Willingness to innovate and
explore new ideas
- Have an understanding of
digital online and mobile advertising
- Have a proven track record of
partnering with content, product, and technology to develop and sell unique and
innovative online and mobile ad campaigns
