MAIN PURPOSE:
The job holder will actively participate in risk management of the Fund's activities by providing risk reviews and analysis. He/she will assist the Risk Manager in identification, assessment, measurement, reporting and control of risks. He/she will also be responsible for the quality and management of risk reporting and fisk framework implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Review and assess inherent risks with new investment proposals and make relevant recommendations.
·         Analyze financial institutions perfonmance and determine risk rating for each for purposes of deposit placements.
·         Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) and ad hoc reports regarding the status of the Fund's investment portfolio risk.
·         Develop relevant tools/models for analyzing and quantifying the impact of risks to the current and potential investments.
·         Monitor and report on the Fund's compliance wrth the Investment guidelines issued by the URBRA from time to time.
·         Monrtor compliance with the provisions of the investment policy (and any other relevant policies of the Fund) in the investment process.
·         Monitor the Fund's asset - liability structure and make relevant recommendations to management.
·         Perform sensrtivity analysis to determine the level of volatility of proposed investments and make appropriate recommendations to management.
·         Undertake stress testing of the Fund's investment portfolio risk and advise management of the necessary actions to be taken in addressing the revealed exposures.
·         In conjunction wrth risk owners, participate in control self-assessment and track implementation of action points.
·         Regularly sensitize the relevant departments i.e, Investment, Finance regarding investment risk control.
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics with professional qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Risk Management such as; ACCA, CPA, CFA, FRM or equivalent
Related Job Experience:
 A minimum of 5 years in a busy business organization or professional services firm, preferably in risk management, investment, treasury or finance departments.
Key Competences:
Excellent analytical skills and keenness to detail ~ In-depth knowledge of market and financial risks
·         Financial modeling skills especially in excel
·         Self-motivation and ability to work under minimum supervision.

·          Ability to provide appropriate advice to control  risks
