Background Information:
The Business Development Manager will liaise with a team of consultants,
coordinate and manage the
implementation of the HRMAU Annual strategic and operational
plans which shall include supervising and coach one staff and one intern.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct and coordinate the business HR relevant research to provide
business related information to the association
• Working closely with business development service (BDS) providers and
other partner agencies and to effectively address HR needs, problems and
concerns
• Identify and minimize administrative barriers to the HRMAU secretariat
especially in revenue collections
• Prepare the association’s documentation and reports on a regular basis
• Manage and supervise the secretariat staff undertaking internship, data
collection and using the analysis to identify and inform new business
opportunities and partnerships
• Take a lead in planning and execution of all association events and
trainings including international conferences, networking forums, business
forums etc to promote the association
• Regularly update and manage the association database and liaise with the
website manager to update the HRMAU information
• Oversee the operational and administrative activities of the secretariat
i.e. supporting the broadening the Association’s membership base and revenue
collections, and staff performance
• Identify business and professional opportunities targeted to members and
partners and share them via mail and the website
• Resource Mobilization; drawing winning proposals and budgets and
fundraising
• Work closely with IT support to ensure that the database is regularly
updated with relevant information.
• Ensuring proper management and use of the association’s resources
including assets and finances as well as accountability in line with policy
guidelines.
• Supporting secretariat staff and media partners to develop articles and
success stories about the association and its collaborations to feature in
publications and press.
• Partner with Trainers to deliver regular learning and networking events
for the association members
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Business Studies,
Human Resources
• At least 3 years’ professional experience – ideally private sector – in
one or more of the following areas: Human Resources, Business Studies or
Administration etc.
• Leadership and people management skills with the ability and sensitivity
to encourage a strong team environment.
• Possess demonstrable competence in managing consultants
• Strong planning skills and experience working to strict time-guidelines
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
• Proven leadership ability combined with excellent communication skills.
• Computer literacy and Business Acumen.
