Company Profile : Our client in the Agricultural Industry seeks to fill a position of a
Senior Accountant
Job Purpose:
The position holder is responsible
for review, posting and maintenance of the general ledger. The holder is
accountable for the timely preparation and posting of all journal entries,
ensuring reconciliation of all the GL accounts and related schedules. Principal
Accountabilities
• Maintain the General Ledger accounts and supporting schedules in
accordance to the period close process.
• Fixed Asset accounting/ register
maintenance.
• Monthly VAT, PAYE and NSSF return preparation
• Responsible for coding, matching and capturing financial data into
company ERP accounting system
• Review monthly account reconciliations and ensure all reconciling items
are appropriately resolved
• Assist the Manager in preparation
of periodic financial and regulatory reports • Coordinate the preparation of
audit work papers

Skill Set :
Education, Skills and Knowledge
• A university degree in Accounting,
Finance, Statistics, mathematics, economics, or computer science
• Full or part professional
qualifications with CPA, ACCA, CIMA or related
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in similar role
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or other ERP system.
• Prior audit experience with Accountancy firms will be an added advantage

• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good application of Technical knowledge to practical issues
• Team work
• Ability to work under pressure and minimum supervision to meet tight
deadlines.
