MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding the follolving qualifications;
a)            Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE)fO' Level lvith any of tile following;
                i. Pass in 6 subjecls, induding English Language  with a Credrt in, at least, one of them or.
                ii. Pass in 5 sUbjecls, including English language, with credit in, at least, two of them or
                iii. Pass in 4 subjects, including English language, with Credils in all of them plus
b)            Uganda AdVanced Certificate of Education
(UACE)  Level with at least one principal pass.
Possession of a Certificate or Diploma in erther Law or Business Studies or Management or Information Technology or Computer Sdence/Engineering or Public Relations, or Mass Communication or Joumalism from a recognized Institution, Training in CO<nputer Application where applicable and knowtedge of a foreign language such as Chinese will be an added adVantage.
NOTE: Applicants lvith degrees shall not be considered.

 DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to Immigration Officer for perfonning the following duties:
Border monrtoring and scouting for illegal immigrants. Border pafrol.
Occasionally compiling data on entry and exit traVelers. Arrest of illegal Immigrants at border points.
Guiding and advising Immigrants on the Immigration procedures at the entrylexit points.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Other Requirements:
Applicants for the Posts of Immigration Officer and Immigration Assistant shall be required to:
Pass the described physical fitness and heatth tests in accordance with the Laws of Uganda.
ii) Successfully undergo the immigration spedalized training for a maximum of nine (9) months at Government expense as a pre<andition for appointment.

The Application and Summary Forms are obtainable from the Public Service Commission Office, 2nd Floor, Farmers House, PartiamentAVenue, Kampala, MinistrylDepartment Headquarters and District Sefvice Commission Offices, www.psc.go.ug Hand written applications are also acceptable.
Applications forms should bear the title of the post followed by the Reference Number specified against the vacancy.
The appropriate AdVert Title e.g. 'PSC Extemal Advert. No. 312014' should be clearly indicated on the top of each first page of the Application Fonn No. 3 (2008). Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials.
Applicants subsequently shortlisted for oral interviews for the post of Immigration Officer, Scale U4. and their names displayed on the PSC website; www.psc. go.ug and on the PSC Notice Board shall be required to present certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and certificates at the time of sitting the oral interviews.
Applicants should attach three (3) recent certified passport size photographs.
Serving officers already appointed in the Public Service shall not be considered for posts of Immigration Officer, Scale U4. Falsification of or non disclosure of information shall lead to automatic disqualification.
Applicanls who shall not hear from the Public Service Commission, on completion of the selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful for both posts.
