Brief Company Profile:

The UVRI-IAVI HIV Vaccine Program (the Program), founded in 2001, is a not for profit organization with offices and research facilities based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe. The Program conducts research in basic sciences, clinical trials, epidemiology and Social Sciences that is aimed toward discovering an HIV preventive vaccine. This works involves research and services on at-risk populations, and advocacy for HIV vaccines. The Program invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the position here-below:
Administration Manager (AM)
The Administration Manager is responsible for management of assets (buildings, automobiles, land including timely and legal payment of bills) and human resources, for providing administrative support to technical teams conducting research, for coordinating visitor schedules and for supporting the Executive Director (ED) in running the Program.
S/he will work closely with the ED and Finance Manager in financial management to ensure value for money use of Program funds.
 All these and other functions must be carried in compliance with donors requirements, Program's policies and the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
             Lead the Administrative team in a manner that empowers them to deliver excellent customer service and high standards.
             Develop and implement policies, procedures and strategies that will ensure effective and legally compliant management of all UVRI-IAVllogistics and human resources.
             Support the strategic and operational planning process in order to ensure that the Program has the physical, logistical and administrative support necessary to accomplish objectives
             Ensure that the physical working environment provided to the Program's staff is safe, secure & hygienic and conducive to support all program activities
             Oversee the procurement and storage of supplies and equipment and ensure the timely purchasing of quality goods and services in a transparent and ethical manner that demonstrates value for money and adherence to procurement guidelines.
             Ensure effective utilisation of the finances associated with Human Resources and Administration
             Liaise and with all other collaborative programs on the UVRI campus in areas of common interest
             Responsible for the Program's Archive and storage of both research and facility records according to GCP guidelines.
Qualifications:
             A Masters degree in Management or Business Administration
             A wide range of experience in logistics, project management, monitoring budgets, estates management, operational strategizing, management of support services and managing internal and external relationships.
             Strong logical and forward thinking, multi-tasking and communication and interpersonal skills
             At least 5 years experience in project/program administration and management in reputable organizations
             Experience in purchasing/procurement and human
resource management
             Not less than 35 years of age
Salary and allowances: The successful candidate will serve on a Ugandan based contract with an attractive package based on qualifications and experience.
