The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to strengthen health systems in Africa with strong emphasis on infectious diseases through research and capacity development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: prevention, care and treatment; training; research; Outreach; and laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-John Hopkins University Core Lab).
The IDI Outreach program supports Saving Mothers Giving Life (SMGL) project interventions in Kibaale district and comprehensive HIV/AIDS services (including Adult Safe Male Medical Circumcision (SMC) for HIV prevention in the 7 districts of Kibaale, Hoima, Kiboga, Kyankwanzi, Buliisa, Masindi and Kiryandongo under the Expanded Kibaale-Kiboga Project (EKKP).
Summary of Responsibilities:
·             Conduct technical support supervision for comprehensive HIV /AIDS activities in project supported Health facilities.
·             Ensure the capacity of Health Workers in supported facilities is built through appropriate CPD sessions and Mentorship.
·             Participate in planning, budgeting and report generation for STTAT related activities.
·             Participate in CQI activities and quality management of HIV patients in supported health facilities.
Education requirements and experience
    Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community health.
    Must be registered with the Allied Health professionals’ Council with a valid practicing license
    At least 2 years of post-qualification professional experience
    Formal training in HIV/AIDS care and treatment for Clinical officers.
    Use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, email and Internet
