The Bureau, through the respective Local Governments, would now like to recruit

Brief Company Profile:
The Government of Uganda through the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) will be undertaking the 2014 National Population and Housing Census enumeration this year. The enumeration will be conducted from 28th August to 06th September 2014. It will involve door to door visits to all households in Uganda during the specified period. Everybody who will have spent the night of 27th /28th August (Census Night) in Uganda will be enumerated.
In order to smoothly implement the exercise, District Census Committees have been formed
and District Census Offices established to coordinate the process. At the Sub-county/ Division/Town Council level Census Supervisors have been nominated by the respective Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) to coordinate the activity.
Duties of the Parish/Ward Supervisor:
● Distribution and retrieval of Census materials within the Parish;
● Mobilisation of Local Council 1 (LC1) members who are to assist as guides;
● Mobilisation of the parish community for the Census;
● Technical and administrative supervision of the exercise within the parish;
● Editing of the questionnaires and enumeration areas Summary Sheets for any inconsistencies; and
● Collecting information on persons who spent the census night in lodges, inns, guest houses
and hotels and generate Summary Forms.
Minimum/ Essential requirements for the
Parish/Ward Supervisor Position:
● Should have education level of “A” Level Certificate. However, candidates with good
credits in English and Mathematics at O-level may be considered;
● Should be mature and responsible citizens (preferably with management experience and experience in coordinating censuses/research/ surveys);
● Should be a mature adult;
● Must be ordinary residents of the Parishes/
Wards and Villages in which they wish to work;
● Should have proven organisational skills and ability to mobilise;
● Must have good communication skills;
● Must have good public relations; and
● Must be available from 1st August to 14th September, 2014.

photocopies of the required certificates and testimonials should be sent directly to the
respective Sub-county Chiefs/Town Clerks.

for and the Parish/Ward/Village of Residence on top of the first page of the Application Letter.
