sources for the rural communities in seventeen districts of Jinja, Mpigi,
Gomba, Masindi, Bulisa, Luuka, Nakaseke, Buyende, Namutumba, Kaliro, Iganga,
Kamuli, Mayuge, Bugiri, Namayingo, Luwero and Nakasongola and is now seeking
for funding for future project activities.
Job Summary:
The Mobile Community Development Officer will be regularly visiting
communities and pump sites that Busoga Trust may not have worked on for several
years or never, analysing the demands of the area, completing checklists on the
communities overall sanitation and hygiene levels and at times reporting on the
functionality and condition of the wells, springs, tanks etc.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Re-train Water Users Committees
about their roles and responsibilities and ensure effectiveness of the Improved
Community Based Management Systems following SVVS protocol and instructions of
SWS Director and his delegates.
·
Conduct intensive work with the
communities in the areas of health education and training to achieve improved
hygiene and sanitation.
·
Rebuild and Maintain good
relationships with the locai governments where we are working and work with CDO
team to ensure good governance and effectiveness of the Improved Community
Based Management Systems following SWS protocol and instructions of SWS Director
and his delegates.
·
Attend on behalf of the employer,
meetings, workshops relevant to the projects, organised by stake holders
/sector players geared towards improving access to safe water coverage,
improved sanitation, and improved governance
·
Remobilize and sensitise communities towards
the employer’s and SWS project set goals.
·
Maintain confidentiality of all
project documents and discussions within team of co-workers
·
Move at the instance and request
of the SWS Project manager on matters concerning the project.
·
Travel independently to and
between villages in the project area.
·
Work closely with WUC’s and
organise meetings
·
Compile reports on surveys
