Brief Company Profile:
In Uganda, the health care system can be a difficult network to navigate
and the quality of health care is
critically hampered by limited access to
health care professionals, rising health care costs, inadequate health
information among others and as a consequence locks out a sizeable number of
households from much needed health care.
The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG) is a Social Enterprise incorporated in
Uganda and Kenya
working to significantly improve health outcomes and set the benchmark of
accessibility to health professionals and information and affordability of
quality health care. TMCG is a consortium of innovative ventures in the Health
Care industry involving Call Centres, Clinics, Ambulances, Pharmacies, Software
Applications and a Foundation.
The core objective is to design, deploy and scale up innovative health care
service delivery models to ensure sustainable access to a comprehensive,
affordable and quality health care and education driven by client engagement
and innovation.
The Medical Concierge Group has received countrywide and international
recognition and awards for impacting people’s lives such as the 2014 Google
Africa Connected Award, the 2013 Ericsson Excellence in Innovation Award, 2013
Microsoft 4Afrika Award, 2013 Deutsche Telekom Innovation
Award and the 2012 Warid Entrepreneurship Fund Award.
Purpose of the position
The role is focused on management of day-to-day finance and operations of
the organisation to
ensure maximum productivity.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Finance Management Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly financial reports for management review.
2. Prepare budgets, monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future
trends.
3. Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger,
cash disbursements
and receipts, and fixed assets register.
4. To liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, insurance companies, and the
corporate secretary
and ensure all statutory requirements and to ensure that deadlines are
adhered to.
5. Monitor and report bank account activity and balances on a monthly basis
6. Prepare comprehensive and accurate account reconciliations for all
general ledger accounts
on a monthly basis.
7. Process payroll and file all required employer and employee withholding
returns and
payments.
8. Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
9. Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
10. Any related duties assigned by Management
Operations Management Duties:
1. Supervising staff and preparing monthly call agent schedules.
2. Prepare daily/weekly performance reports and other documents, using word
processing,
spread sheet, database, or presentation software.
3. File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports when
required.
4. Coordination of outdoor events and field travel
5. Office Management (Monitor Security, Facility Maintenance, Housekeeping,
etc.)
Qualifications and Work Experience
1. A Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or
it’s equivalent.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably in a management position.
3. A strong background in financial management.
4. Demonstrated leadership in managing projects or initiatives in a start
up environment.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and
Power point
6. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
7. Demonstrated work ethic and ability to complete deliverable in
established time frames
8. Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive
9. High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
