Brief Company Profile:
Our Client, The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) Uganda, is a corporate
entity and local NGO that contributes to a process of preventing HIV infection,
restoring hope and improving the quality of Life of
persons, families and
communities affected by HIV infection and disease seeks to recruit a visionary,
strategic and dynamic Director Human Resource and Administration to provide
leadership for the Human Resource and Administration function.
The role of the incumbent is to provide strategic direction to the HRA
Directorate, develop, monitor, implement and review Human Resource and
Administrative strategies, systems, policies, and practices in line with
existing TASO strategic objectives and people management guidelines
Key result areas
1. Develop, implement and monitor the Human Resource and Administration
Business Plan and budget in line with TASO strategic plan and policies.
2. Develop, implement and review Human Resource sourcing processes and
retention strategies in line with TASO policy.
3. Review and advise the TASO Board and management on optimization of the
TASO organizational structure and business model.
4. Develop, monitor and implement the systems for knowledge management to
enhance learning and development function in line with the TASO Staff
Development and information management policies.
5. Plan, develop and implement staff performance management system in line
with the TASO Human Resource Management Manual.
6. Develop, implement and review a staff compensation, welfare and
incentive system in line with TASO Human Resource Management Manual.
7. Develop systems and procedures for managing and maintaining TASO’s
assets, estates and utilities in line with relevant laws, regulations and
standards.
Minimum job specifications:
The successful candidate will have:
(1) A Masters in Human Resource
Management, MBA, Organizational (Industrial or occupational) psychology;
(2) Training in Administration, Management/Organisational studies,
Procurement and Contracts Management, and Project Management;
(3) A minimum of 6 years’ relevant
experience at Managerial or Senior Management level in a busy and competitive
environment, especially in NGO, private sector or similar sector;
(4) Fluency in English language;
(5) Strong leadership, teamwork and
management skills
(6) Strong communication, networking and negotiation skills; and
(7) Proficiency in computer and
computer packages
