JOB OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Project Manager the job holder Will provide onsite
supervision to static, outreaches in the well ness centers. The job holder will
focus on increasing control measures against sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS by
promoting education and- access to
services for the beneficiaries. The job holder will promote stakeholder
involvement in the development and operation of proJect work plans to improve
HIV preven ion uptake and linkages to services, scaling up Safe Male
Circumcision and promoting outreach-based HCT including door to door services
for beneficiaries.
DESCRIPTON OF DUTIES:
·
Mobilize and increase community demand for SMC services, strengthening
district systems for static SMC activities in the well ness centers.
·
Initiate work in the various deSignated areas by reaching, visiting,
motivating, verifying and registering clients for SMC services and is expected
to play the leading role of bringing clients to benefit from the project in a
rational and systematic way.
·
Promote participatory and supportive management of the AMREF team on site
to ensure innovation and professional growth.
·
Motivate and encourage community leaders to talk to potential clients,
encourage and motivate them to seek for SMC services making sure that targets
are met.
·
Liaise with District health officials in accessing health facility
infrastructural needs and plan for the provision of those within the project
work plan and budget. Develop appropriate IEC and other behavioral change
communication materials in coordination with ACp, DHTs ensuring appropriate
translation into local languages, distribution and utilization. Work with
relevant stakeholders to address training of health workers, especially in SMC
and building their capacity to enable them deliver relevant interventions to
the beneficiaries in the project areas.

Increase participation in STI, ANC, PMTCT, and other relevant integrated
health area activities using established structures and civil society
partnerships. Scale up BCC Strategies in project. Liaise with the district
health team to promote, review/develop, track and use community-driven health
indicators in SMC planning and identifying a body of community-based best
practices that can be translated into scale-up action. Conduct a baseline
survey of the beneficiaries to be able to come up with baseline data on some
key indicators that are impacting on the project.

Ensure field-testing of the various phases of social mobilizafion materials
as they are developed and provide feedback Capture success stories and lessons
learned in each phase of program implementation.

Prepare monthly and quarterly report on standard, montnly reporting
formats. Perform any other duties relevant to the project as assigned by the
supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
·
A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Art, Development studies.
·
A Post graduate training in Public Health or a related field.
·
Experience in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and External Quality
Assessment (EQA).
·
Well versed on the MOH reporting guidelines and use of national SMC
Services.
·
Familiar with basic concept of social mobilization.
·
Demonstrated willingness to learn and work with people for community
development and able to spend extended periods with communities.
·
Excellent oratory skills in local language an added advantage.
·
Experienced and a good understanding of documenting best practices.
Computer literate.
·
At least 3-5 years experience in HIV/AIDS interventions at the national level
and behavioral change 8revention programs preferably in an f\JG environment.
Hands on experience and exposure working in well ness centers, participating in
outreaches and in SMC IS an added advantage.
·
Knowledge of SMC Control policies is essential.
·
Track record in managing financial
resources.
·
Experience in implementing activities in HIV/AIDS, co-infection, STI,
PMTCT, ANC.
·
Experience in conducting training at the community level for healtfl
workers. Evidence of documentation of project experiences to support program development and
evidence-based advocacy.
