REPORTS TO: ENGINEERING OFFICER (CIVIL)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• To provide plumbing and drainage maintenance works
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Education and Qualifications:
• A Diploma in Water and Sanitation Engineering, Plumbing, or a Trade test - Level III Crafts man Certificate
Skills and Abilities
• Technical repair and artisan skills
• Ability to work for long hours
Key responsibilities
• To carry out basic plumbing, drainage maintenance and repair works.
• To advise pre-qualified maintenance firms on the Statement of Works and scope of the works/project to be undertaken
• To collaborate with contracted firms to ensure work orders are executed within the framework contracts.
• To prepare lists and cost estimates for the purchase of necessary tools, equipment and plumbing materials for inclusion in the departmental budget
• To monitor water metre readings and verify water bills for accuracy before submitting for payment
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT DOOR KEEPER

Skills and Abilities
• Ability to handle physically challenging situations
• Good communication and Customer Care skills
Key responsibilities
• To control access and provide janitor services to the chambers, committees and offices.
• To perform chamber duties when the House is sitting
• To guide visitors to the public gallery
• To secure rooms/offices in the Parliament
• To post mail and other documents into the Members’ Pigeon holes
• To take custody of keys for Members of Parliament and staff
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Key responsibilities
• To handle litigation matters of Parliament and any other contentious legal matters
• To draft declarations, motions, resolutions, petitions and questions for oral answer
• To provide legal advice and opinions on legislative matters and procedures to Members of Parliament, Parliamentary Committees and the Commission
• To draft contracts, Memoranda of Understanding and other undertakings on behalf of Parliament
• To prepare periodic legal reports

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To provide research services to Members of Parliament, committees and staff.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Education and Qualifications:
• An Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Energy, Mineral Studies or Geology from a recognized University/Institution
• A Postgraduate qualification in energy, mineral studies or geology is an added advantage.
• At least 3 (three) years’ research experience in an energy or minerals field/sector
Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of oil and gas value/supply chain analysis
• Monitoring and evaluation, Policy and Bills analysis competencies
• Research methods and data analysis skills
• Good analytical and report writing skills
• Proficiency in using Computer Applications like SPSS, Epinfo
Key responsibilities
• To lead assigned research teams
• To collect, collate, analyze, document and store research data/ information
• To produce research reports and briefs to Parliamentary Committees, Members of Parliament and senior staff
• To initiate and participate in designing research proposals/ concept papers, work plans and budgets for carrying out research activities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities
• To lead assigned research teams
• To collect, collate, analyze, document and store research data/information
• To produce research reports and briefs to Parliamentary Committees, Members of Parliament and Senior Staff
• To design studies and analyse data in the Department of Research Services
• To participate in the design, maintenance and management of research databases in the Department of Research Services
• To initiate and participate in designing research proposals, concept papers, work plans and budgets for carrying out research activities
• To provide technical support to the Committees when conducting Parliamentary investigations
• To extract, analyze and compile Government assurances
• To analyse Bills and Policies
• To participate in monitoring and evaluation of Government policies, programmes, laws and regulations
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
