Background Information:
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide. MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and other donor funded projects, both in Kampala and other parts of the country including STRIDES for Family Health project and TRACKTB. TRACK TB is a 5 - year USAID-funded project that started in January 2013 and ends in 2017. TRACK TB focuses on increasing Tuberculosis (TB) Case Detection Rate (CDR) and Treatment Success Rate (TSR) in Kampala and USAID supported districts in TB/HIV. This is aimed at meeting national targets for reducing the burden of TB; MDR-TB and TB/HIV co infection. STRIDES is a Reproductive Health/Family Planning and Child Survival Services Project whose goal is to train and support health service providers across 15 selected districts in Uganda to be fully functional and deliver quality, integrated RH/FP and CS services to more people. The STRIDES Project is recruiting staff for its one year extension period ending February 2015.

Post: Communication Specialist – TracKTB Project
Overall responsibilities:
·
The Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and
dissemination of project literature, including drafting regular and ad hoc
reporting to USAID, in consultation
with the M&E officer, and under guidance from the Chief of Party and Headquarter CHS Communications Manager
·
S/he is responsible for capturing, packaging, synthesizing and sharing
project successes through methods such as success stories disseminated through
USAID, the MSH web site, Friday Forward, and the MSH e Newsletter, conference
presentations, case studies, and posts on the MSH blog, Global Health Impact.
·
Increase the profile of the project’s work by writing monthly success
stories, fact sheets, drafting press releases, articles, etc., as noted in the
project CKE plan and informed by project results.
·
Ensure and facilitate adherence to project reporting requirements,
including reviewing quarterly and annual reports to USAID and MSH for content
and branding requirements and assisting with quarterly review slides and
presentation. Liaise with MSH home office on final report preparation.
·
Gather, edit, and write content for and maintain the project web page
and promote awareness of the site.
·
Provide ongoing capacity-building support for project staff on
communications and knowledge exchange tools, templates, resources and
approaches.
Qualifications:
·
University degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent relevant experience,
·
Experience in working with a busy international organization preferred,
·
Fluent in writing and speaking English,
·
Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact
professionally with clients and stakeholders,
·
Excellent communications skills, as well as appreciation for the need to
disseminate project results to a broad audience,
·
Firm understanding and sense of importance of attention to details.
Post: Executive assistant – TracK
TB ProjectOverall responsibilities
·
The Executive Assistant provides overall administrative support to the
Chief of Party (CoP) TRACK TB. This includes day-to-day administrative,
logistical and specific activities related to the Project and coordination of
all contacts between the CoP and internal and external stakeholders such as
project staff, sub-recipients, USAID, the Ministry of Health, and any other
party.
·
S/he works closely with all Project staff to ensure that both the needs
of the project, of project staff, and of the CoP are optimally served.
·
S/he also coordinates TRACKB specific human resources management as well
providing support to the MSH HR team in recruitment & selection,
performance management, welfare and information management.
Qualifications:
·
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, human resource management,
business administration or other relevant training,
·
Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience,
·
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and
spoken English,
·
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a
team environment,
·
Self driven personality who requires minimum supervision,
·
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, and attention to
detail,
·
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
