 Auto Electrician Contract Position (X1)
Duty Station : Kampala
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to
• Troubleshoot, repairing and/or upgrading the vehicle’s electrical system as well as the other electrical devices
• Using laptop or hand-held device connected to an engine’s electronic control unit to do fault finding
• Check and test wiring and parts in older vehicles using portable instruments (non electronic vehicles)
Research and rectify faults, using manufacturers’ circuit diagrams and specification manuals
• Service, identify and repair faults or replace faulty parts
• Install and maintain electrically operated accessories
• Adjust engine control systems and timing to make sure vehicles are running at peak performance
• Rebuild electrical units, such as starters, generators, and alternators
Personnel Specifications
• Diploma in AUTOMOTIVE Electrical Engineering or related qualification
• Must currently be employed as Auto Electrician with minimum 3 years work experience
• Must have prior work experience on diagnostic equipment with excellent problem solving and fault finding skills
• Must have good eyesight ,colour vision and good hand-eye coordination
• Must be able to approach work in a systematic and thorough way
• Must be able to keep up to date with technological changes
• Must be able to work within a team
 General Mechanic - Contract Position (X2)
Duty Station:  Jinja and Mabarara
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on Trucks and Forklifts
• Perform preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
• Perform fault finding and diagnostic test of engines, transmission and drive trains
• Maintain hydraulic systems on forklifts
• Attend to vehicle breakdowns
• Maintain shop tools and equipment in good, safe and clean working order, and reports deficiencies
Personnel Specifications
• Degree in Automotive Mechanical
Engineering or related qualification
• Must currently be employed as Diesel Mechanic with minimum 5 years work experience on trucks and forklifts
• Must have prior work experience on MAN, Nissan and Mercedes Benz trucks and Caterpillar Forklifts
• Must have excellent problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills.
• Must hold a valid local Heavy Duty driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
Forklift Technician- Contract Position (X1)
Duty Station : Jinja
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on forklifts
• Perform preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
• Perform fault finding and diagnostic test of engines, transmission, hydraulic systems and drive trains
• Perform basic fault finding and repairs on electrical system of forklifts
• Attend to forklift breakdowns
• Maintain shop tools and equipment in good, safe and clean working order, and reports deficiencies
Personnel Specifications
• Degree in Automotive Mechanical Engineering or related qualification
• Must currently be employed as Forklift
Technician with minimum 5 years work experience on trucks
• Must have prior work experience on Caterpillar and Hyster forklifts (diesel and LPG)
• Must have excellent problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills.
• Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
Boiler Maker/Welder- Contract Position (X1)
Duty Station : Kampala
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to
• Construct and repairs metal truck bodies and trailers according to specifications.
• Perform Arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding and gas welding/cutting operations
• Fabricate parts / equipment
• Work independently with minimum of
supervision
Personnel Specifications
• Diploma in Welding Engineering or related
qualification
• Must currently be employed as welder or truck body builder
• Five years or more welding with truck body building experience
• Must have welding blueprint reading and comprehension of basic drawing
• Must be able to approach work in a systematic and thorough way
• Welding and Shop Safety knowledge
• Must be able to work within a team
Trailer Mechanic- Contract Night Shift
Position (X1)
 Duty Station : Kampala
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on Trailers and drawbars
• Perform preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
• Check and rectify wheel alignment issues.
• Maintain curtains, rollers, guides and tie downs.
• Attend to vehicle breakdowns
• Maintain shop tools and equipment in good, safe and clean working order, and reports deficiencies
Personnel Specifications
• Degree in Automotive Mechanical Engineering or related qualification
Must currently be employed as Trailer
Mechanic with minimum 5 years work experience on heavy duty trailers
• A broad knowledge and experience of modern commercial trailers including ABS/ EBS, electrical and general servicing
• Must have excellent problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills.
• Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
Trailer Mechanic Assistant- Contract
Night Shift Position (X1) –
Duty Station:Kampala
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to assist
Trailer Mechanic in:
• Performing installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on Trailers and drawbars
• Performing preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
